NAD Metabolism and Signaling FASEB Conference in Lisbon (2)

Last month, our DC Thomas attended the FASEB Conference – NAD Metabolism and Signaling in Lisbon, Portugal, from August 25th to 29th. This event brought together leading experts and researchers to discuss the latest findings and advancements in NAD metabolism. During the conference, Thomas presented a poster titled: “Fluxomics Analysis of NAD Metabolites in Human Adipocyte Spheroids”

This study aimed to establish a NAD fluxomics assay to dynamically quantify NAD+ biosynthesis and consumption in human white adipocyte spheroids using isotope-labeled nicotinamide (NAM). Results showed successful detection of several NAD+-related metabolites, with rapid uptake and labeling of NAD+ after 30 minutes and stable levels over 24 hours. The isotopic tracing approach successfully tracks NAD+ metabolism, offering potential applications in understanding and modulating NAD+ in obesity-related conditions.
